Holaluz, Badi, Cabify and Microsoft Research will participate in the second Tech Spirit Barcelona Conference Day

  • At the second Tech Spirit Barcelona, Iberian Venture Capital Conference will congregate more than 200 funds
  • Heura (Foods For Tomorrow) has been awarded the Caixabank Emprendedor XXI Prize in Catalonia, delivered today at 7 p.m.

Barcelona, 25th of February 2020-. Tech Spirit Barcelona, the initiative born spontaneously after the cancellation of 4YFN and the Mobile World Congress (MWC) and led by Barcelona Tech City, has reported more than 5,000 registrations to attend the different activities concentrated at the Casa Llotja de Mar of the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona and different city points.

More than 30 activities to and for entrepreneurs have taken place today with outstanding participants such as the Chef Ferran Adrià, the founders of eDreams and Glovo, Chartboost and the round table Female Funding, We’ve got a problem.  The day has closed with the granting of the EmprendedorXXI Awards supported by CaixaBank. Heura (Foods for Tomorrow) has been the company awarded and has received an economic endowment of 5,000 euros and access to an international program in Silicon Valley.

Tomorrow’s conferences will again gather leaders in the technological and digital sector and will deliver several speeches such as Research in tech: Why, how and myths with Mar Gonzalez (Microsoft Research) and Carlos Herrera (Cabify),New Local heroes with Andrés Bou (SocialPoint), Carlota Pi (Holaluz), JC Taunay (TravelPerk), Albert Bosch (Housfy) and Alvaro Córdoba (Badi), How to prepare an exit?, with Lucas Carné (Privalia Founder), Iñaki Ecenarro (Founder Trovit) and Miguel Vicente (Antai VB), or American Case: How to become a global leaderwith Jerome S. Engel (Berkeley – Haas) and Oscar Sala (The Collider – MWC), among others.

Other of the events to be highlighted is the Iberian Venture Capital Conference boosted by the Asociación Española de Capital, Crecimiento e Inversión (ASCRI),with CaixaBank DayOne. This event will gather more than 200 attendees. An 80% of the Spanish Venture Capital segment is foreseen to attend.

Organized by Barcelona Tech City, Tech Spirit Barcelona is an initiative born spontaneously after the cancellation of 4YFN and the Mobile World Congress. Amongst the 60 international and local speakers are the chef Ferran Adrià, Glovo, Holaluz, eDreams and TravelPerk; as well as representatives from ImaginBank de CaixaBank, Uber, Seat, Telefónica and InnoCells del Banco Sabadell.
The organization is led by Barcelona Tech City together with the City of Barcelona, the Autonomous Government of Catalonia, the Government of Spain, Mobile World Capital Barcelona, Consorci de la Zona Franca, Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona, BSM and other institutions of the ecosystem.
The initiative, to be held only this year, is led by Barcelona Tech City and is supported by CaixaBank, Banco Sabadell, Telefónica, Epson, Acciona, Grupo Sorigué, DWF-RCD, Social Point, Institut Català de Finances, as well as the work of Firma, Llorente y Cuenca (LLYC), Mortensen, McCann, Meetmaps, Watchity, La Famiglia and El Palauet.
