Tech Spirit Barcelona starts exceeding the expectations

Barcelona, 25th of February 2020-. Tech Spirit Barcelona, the initiative born spontaneously after the cancellation of 4YFN and the Mobile World Congress (MWC), has welcomed today more than 5,000 attendees that participate in these conferences.
At the opening session, that has taken place at the Casa Llotja de Mar of the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona, have participated Àngels Chacón, Minister of Business & Knowledge of the Government of Catalonia, Jaume Collboni, First Deputy Mayor of the City of Barcelona, Pere Navarro, Special Delegate of the State at the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona, Carles Grau, Director of Mobile World Capital Barcelona, Mònica Roca, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona and Miguel Vicente, President of Barcelona Tech City.
The Tech Spirit Barcelona conferences, to be held until the 27thof February, are aimed at entrepreneurs, investors, companies, students and organizations linked to the entrepreneurial sector. “We are very proud of the citizenship’s rapid answer to this challenge that proves that the city was very anxious to do business. Without doubt, it is a marvelous example of public-private collaboration”, has highlighted Miguel Vicente, President of Barcelona Tech City. In the same line, Pere Navarro, Special Delegate of the State at the Consorci de la Zona Franca, has shared with the audience that “the organization of Tech Spirit Barcelona in a record time shows the importance of the alliances and sum of efforts among the different economic agents in order to carry out projects that have a common interest for the business fabric”.
Àngels Chacón, Minister of Business & Knowledge of the Autonomous Government of Catalonia, has stated that “Barcelona is a main point of talent attraction in Southern Europe” and has highlighted the importance of creating synergies among all the ecosystem players.“
“Even though the Mobile World Congress edition was cancelled, we have wanted to preserve the spirit of such a relevant week for the city”, has explained Jaume Collboni, First Deputy Mayor of the City of Barcelona. He has also highlighted “Barcelona’s capital nature to diversify the economy and place the city at the avant-garde of the ecosystem.”
Mònica Roca, First Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona, considers that “Catalonia is an innovating society, which is essential for the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona that is working to boost the creativity, internationalization and entrepreneurial spirit of the city”.
Lastly, Carles Grau, President of the Mobile World Capital, has concluded assuring that “this is a magic week and an exceptional experience that proves that the entrepreneurial ecosystem is more alive and dynamic than ever”.

The epicenter of Tech Spirit Barcelona will be at Casa Llotja de Mar of the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona, where more than 45 activities will take place between Tuesday and Thursday. There are also more than 100 events programmed all around the city.
About Tech Spirit Barcelona
Organized by Barcelona Tech City, Tech Spirit Barcelona is an initiative born spontaneously after the cancellation of 4YFN and the Mobile World Congress. The event, free of cost, will be held from the 23rd to the 27th of February and will host 45 activities at the Llotja de Mar of the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona, 108 events all around the city, close to 60 local and international speakers and more than 100 venture capital investors.
Tech Spirit is an inclusive, transversal movement that aims to accommodate all the energy that is flowing in the city in a key week for the digital and technological entrepreneurial ecosystem. With this objective, a completely new proposal has been set up with a central program of activities with the Llotja de Mar building as its stage, and that also incorporates proposals created by other organizations at the Pier01 spaces and in other spaces that will be announced through the Tech Spirit Barcelona agenda and web https://techspirit.barcelona/
Amongst the 60 international and local speakers are the chef Ferran Adrià, Glovo, Holaluz, eDreams y TravelPerk; as well as representatives from ImaginBank de CaixaBank, Uber, Seat, Telefónica and InnoCells del Banco Sabadell.
The organization is led by Barcelona Tech City together with the City of Barcelona, the Autonomous Government of Catalonia, the Government of Spain, Mobile World Capital Barcelona, Consorci de la Zona Franca, Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona, BSM and other institutions of the ecosystem.
The initiative, to be held only this year, is led by Barcelona Tech City and is supported by CaixaBank, Banco Sabadell, Telefónica, Epson, Acciona, Grupo Sorigué, DWF-RCD, Meetmaps, Watchity, Social Point, Institut Català de Finances, as well as the work of Firma, Llorente y Cuenca (LLYC), Mortensen, McCann, La Famiglia and El Palauet.
